Something About Mondays are a Folk-Pop Band from the Isle of Wight. Having released their Debut EP Is It You? in 2015, this year sees the release of the follow up EP Far Away. Performing locally across the Island, and along the South Coast, 2016 was a busy year for them, in which time they appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival, Wessex Folk Festival and V-Dub Island along with numerous pubs and other small festivals.
3 Part Harmony Vocals, Energetic Fiddle and Driving Upbeat Arrangements have drawn likenesses to The Corrs, Levellers and Bangles, and they also include popular covers with a unique twist within their repertoire.
They have been involved with numerous local Charity Events, regularly supporting the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, and previously, Chelsea's Wishes.
The optional line up of Acoustic or Full Band mean these guys can cater for any event.
All the Band members have extensive Musical Experience having previously worked with top local bands, and some of the guys running the two projects alongside. Kate is the former Lead Guitarist/Backing Vocalist of Wight Hot Pipes and Rigsby, and is still active on Lead Guitar and BVs with her duo Route 27. Joe is a prominent member of local Rock band "Sequel", featuring on Lead Guitar with this outfit, as well as the occasional vocal number. Ben is the fiddle player and vocalist of local duo Molly's Chambers, and previously worked with the Wild Oats. Jenny has featured in many folk bands on the Island, most recently Smoke & Mirrors, and has also worked as part of Wild Wood. As for Doug, it's probably easier to say what he hasn't done! Winning the New Faces competition in the 1970s, he has travelled the world performing on cruise ships and many bands of almost every style imaginable! He is certainly a valuable asset to the band with his wealth of knowledge and experience, not to mention the endless youthful exuberance!
